Psychological Capital: A "HERO's" Journey

Leaders must be adaptable to a rapidly changing world. While it is common to use your economic capital (what you have), your human capital (what you know), and your social capital (who you know), it is equally valuable to focus on who you are, or, your psychological capital.

This retreat will explore the components of Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, and Optimism, referred to as HERO, the psychological capacities that are necessary to grow as a leader and human. You will gain insights to your strengths and areas for development through activities, mindfulness, reflective group discussions, and expert-led sessions. Participants will leave with a renewed sense of purpose to embrace challenges and a toolkit for strengthening their psychological resources.

Development Objectives

This retreat is designed with these development objectives in mind:

  • Reflect on personal strengths and areas for growth in terms of psychological capital.
  • Identify past experiences where psychological capital played a role in overcoming challenges.
  • Develop strategies for setting meaningful goals and envisioning a positive future.
  • Explore methods to enhance self-confidence and belief in one's abilities.
  • Develop coping strategies to navigate setbacks and maintain a resilient mindset.
  • Practice gratitude and positive self-talk to enhance overall outlook on life.
  • Synthesize the retreat's learnings into a personalized plan for enhancing psychological capital.
