Student Groups and Social Impact

Full-Time MBA, Evening MBA, and Weekend MBA students at Chicago Booth can join several student groups that include social impact issues as part of their programming. Some of these groups are focused generally on social impact issues, and others have a more sector- or industry-specific focus. All of the groups provide opportunities for developing leadership experience, gaining networking contacts, and participating in conferences, guest lectures, social events, and more.

Booth Social Impact (BSI) (Evening MBA and Weekend MBA Group)

BSI aims to connect part-time students with careers, communities, and curiosities in the social sector. The group represents the combination of the former Philanthropy Club, Local Optima (nonprofit consulting), and Net Impact.

BSI will support students interested in social sector careers through engagements with nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and corporate social responsibility leaders. We will provide opportunities for students to support local organizations through consulting projects, training and development, volunteer opportunities, fundraising, and board memberships. BSI will also create platforms for students to engage with stakeholders in the social sector space, including academicians, experts, researchers, practitioners, and professionals in a constructive and challenging environment.
