Sigmund E. Edelstone Distinguished Service Professor
Baris Ata takes a problem-driven approach to bridge the theory and practice of operations management. He has studied the delivery of health-care services, sustainable operations, management of manufacturing and service operations, and revenue management. Ata’s current research interests include operational issues in the criminal justice system and the logistical challenges of last-mile delivery issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
Joseph T. and Bernice S. Lewis Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing
Pradeep K. Chintagunta conducts empirical research on consumer, agent, and firm behavior. More recently, he has started working in “development marketing”—studying the role of marketing in economic development. Chintagunta is particularly interested in how marketing practices can impact small businesses and entrepreneurial enterprises in emerging economies and how we can leverage marketing knowledge to improve health outcomes. He is also the faculty co-director of Chicago Booth's Civic Scholars Program.

Richard O. Ryan Professor of Economics and Neubauer Family Faculty Fellow
Emir Kamenica conducts theoretical and empirical research on an eclectic set of topics in microeconomics. Much of his research has been on the design of informational environments—thinking of how we can use the information of who knows what and when they know it to achieve better outcomes. Kamenica has also tackled a variety of other topics, including influence in politics, cultural distances, and dating and marriage markets.
John P. and Lillian A. Gould Professor of Behavioral Science
George Wu studies the psychology of individual, managerial, and organizational decision-making; decision analysis; and cognitive biases in bargaining and negotiation. Wu is working on advancing the behavioral science of purpose through exploring how people adopt, pursue, and fulfill their intentions to accomplish something that is meaningful to the self, and often is of consequence to the world beyond the self. Wu is also the faculty co-director of Chicago Booth's Civic Scholars Program and the faculty director of the Golub Capital Social Impact Lab at the Rustandy Center.
Robert C. McCormack Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance
Luigi Zingales studies corporate governance, financial development, the political economy, and the economic effects of culture, as well as regulatory capture and the various distortions that special-interest groups impose on capitalism. He codeveloped the Financial Trust Index, which is designed to monitor the level of trust that Americans have toward their financial system. Zingales, also faculty director of Booth’s George J. Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State, carries with him a civic passion and the belief that economists should not just interpret the world; they should change it for the better.
