On Board

On Board, hosted by the Social Enterprise Initiative (SEI) at Chicago Booth, brings together students, alumni, and nonprofit professionals to discuss key trends and best practices in nonprofit board service.

At SEI, we believe that board service is an important and effective way for our alumni and students to give back while building leadership skills. Further, we are committed to the notion that thoughtful discourse about the role and evolution of nonprofit boards, as they seek to maximize impact on their chosen social issue while maintaining financial stability, is a worthwhile endeavor.

On Board is organized to speak to varying levels of professional expertise and highlight issues common among nonprofit organizations and their associated boards of directors.

In 2016-17, we will host the following On Board events:

On Board New York will be held September 8, 2016.
On Board Twin Cities will be held November 17, 2016.
On Board Chicago will be held April 7, 2017.

Understanding social sector dynamics. Educating leaders. Supporting social impact.

The Social Enterprise Initiative (SEI) at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business supports the aspirations of students and alumni to impact societal issues and furthers research on how institutions help solve social problems. Through ongoing curricular development, alumni and student programming, and support of faculty pursuits, SEI builds on Chicago Booth's commitment to rigorous analysis and its discipline-based approach to understanding organizations, markets, and policy.
