Luigi Zingales, Robert C. McCormack Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance, was a member of the Committee on Capital Market Regulation. He reported on the committee's findings. According to the Wall Street Journal, the CCMR report "is one of the most high profile efforts to date to address concerns that excessive regulation is adding to corporate costs, stifling the public securities markets and causing the U.S. markets to lose business to foreign competitors."

Luigi Zingales has won the 2003 Bernacer Prize for the best European young financial economist, the 2002 Nasdaq award for best paper in capital formation, and a National Science Foundation grant in Economics. His research interests include on the theory of the firm, the relation between organization and financing, and the going-public decision. Zingales is currently a faculty research fellow for the National Bureau of Economic Research, a research fellow for the Center for Economic and Policy Research, and a fellow of the European Corporate Governance Institute. He is the coauthor of Saving Capitalism from Capitalists (with Raghuram G. Rajan).
Chairman Emeritus, Chicago Mercantile Exchange
Leo Melamed is one of the elder statesmen of the global derivatives market. He was chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange 1969 - 71 and founding chairman of the International Monetary Market 1972 - 77. In 1977, the CME and IMM merged.
Melamed served as special counsel to CME's board 1977 - 91. In 1991 he founded his own consulting firm, Melamed & Associates, of which he is chairman and chief executive officer. He is also currently a member of the global markets advisory committee of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and he is on the board of directors of OneChicago, LLC, an exchange for single-stock futures.
