In this minicourse, you will learn to recognize the situations and behaviors that contribute to high-stakes interactions on teams, as well as the steps you can take to lower the stakes and avoid counterproductive outcomes.

Led by Lisa Stefanac, Clinical Associate Professor of Leadership, this course can be taken live-online or asynchronously. Class meets from 10 to 11am CT on February 7, 14, 21, and 28 via a Zoom link that will be shared with registrants. Recordings will be posted within 24 hours of class. We encourage you to attend as many live session as possible, and to complete assignments prior to class whenever possible. 

This course is open to anyone who is interested in becoming a better leader. While the material pertains to business settings in particular, the skills and tactics are applicable more broadly. Established and emerging leaders alike will develop a new way of understanding how high-stakes situations form and what they can do to temper them.

Registration Details

The registration fee for this course is $50 and includes an individual high-stakes profile assessment ($65 value); access to the live sessions and recordings; access to the course website; and a certificate of completion for those who qualify.

Live sessions will take place on Zoom and assignments will be made available on the course website. You will receive a webinar link upon registration, and an invitation to the course website prior to the first class.

Lisa Stefanac, '09, Clinical Associate Professor of Leadership, is Co-Founder and Partner of KSE Leadership, a privately held leadership consulting firm, and Co-Founder and Partner of Assessing in Action, a leadership and team effectiveness tools business. She has worked with clients ranging from high-growth startups to many of the largest companies in the world across several industries including retail, technology, oil & gas, and digital health. Lisa has facilitated in classes at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She earned her MBA at Chicago Booth.

A minicourse is an abridged version of a regular course, made accessible to our community of busy scholars and professionals. Preparation should take less than an hour per week.

Class meets from 10 to 11AM CT on February 7, 14, 21, and 28 via a Zoom link that will be shared with registrants. Recordings will be posted within 24 hours of class, so it will be easy to catch up if you miss a session. We encourage you to attend the live sessions whenever possible, but you are welcome to take the entire class asynchronously if that works better for you.

There will be assignments to complete in advance of each lecture; they should take no more than 30 minutes. There will also be a final reflection assignment at the end of the course.

The mini-course is not-for-credit; there are no grades. We offer a certificate upon completion of coursework.
