Rothmeier Professor of Economics Anil Kashyap Edward Eagle Brown Professor of Economics and Finance ADMINISTRATION Brian Barry Peggy Eppink Melissa Foreman JoAnn Suh Our Purpose Movements of capital, products, and talent—which play a fundamental role in the modern global economy—have generated confusion among policymakers and the public. Debates about these economic forces, and the different ways to respond to them, can be improved by clear analysis and the skilled use of data. The Initiative on Global Markets (IGM) provides informed, evidence-based thought leadership on how markets work, their effects, and the way they interact with policies and institutions. In doing so, it upholds Chicago Booth’s finest scholarly traditions of pursuing new discoveries and ideas wherever they lead. The IGM supports original research by Chicago Booth faculty, informs the public about important ideas, and promotes high-quality interactions between our faculty, policymakers, business and financial leaders, and leading scholars from other schools. Highlights The IGM highlights for 2018–19 include 4 conferences, 2 Myron Scholes Global Markets Forums, 1 visiting fellow, and 9 new working papers. Thank You The IGM is grateful for the generous support provided by Myron Scholes MBA ’64, PhD ’70; Ramsey A. Frank, ’86; Constance M. Frydenlund, ’87; and Ram P. Subramaniam, ’97 and Ellen M. Subramaniam, ’97.
