The Chookaszian Accounting Research Center brings together students, alumni, faculty, and professionals from the University of Chicago community and beyond to share research, discuss current topics in accounting and related areas, and network through a number of events, including the following conferences and workshops:

Corporate Governance Conference

CARC and Becker Friedman Institute are hosting a conference on Apr 27 on corporate governance research and the role of governance in ESG.

Emerging Financial Reporting Issues Research Symposium

FASB and CARC are co-sponsoring a symposium on Financial Reporting of Intangibles, being held on April 5, 2024.

Accounting Research Workshop

Discussions cover papers dealing with current topics in accounting research, which are prepared for the workshop by faculty, students, and invited guests.

JAR Conference

The annual Journal of Accounting Research conference at Chicago Booth highlights current topics and recent discoveries in the field.

Symposium on Private Firms

This conference brings together academics, regulators, and practitioners to discuss issues facing private firms.

Chicago-Minnesota Theory Conference

Held in partnership with the Carlson School of Management, this conference focuses on analytical and empirical work grounded in an analytical model.
